I’m proud to share that, following the hard work of charities and organisations working with the All-Party Parliamentary Groups on Baby Loss and Maternity, the National Bereavement Care Pathway is now part of the NHS planning framework. This is a vital step to ensure every family receives compassionate, personalised care after baby loss.
What does this mean for families?
It means consistent, high-quality support everywhere, including:
- Private spaces for grieving
- Memory-making opportunities
- Timely emotional and psychological care
- Families feeling listened to and respected
Here in Rossendale and Darwen, I’m working with Lancashire Mind to ensure that Baby Loss services are accessible to as many people as possible. Through their Together After Loss service, families can access free 1-to-1 therapy, support groups, and a safe space to heal.
If you or someone you know has been affected by Baby Loss or Miscarriage, you can follow the link in the comments below to access support through Lancashire Mind’s Baby Loss & Miscarriage Service. ... See MoreSee Less

I welcome today’s Budget announcements by the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves. This is a Budget that cuts waiting lists, that cuts the cost of living, and cuts our debt and borrowing. This Budget delivers real help for families and frontline services. It raises wages, supports our NHS, alleviates child poverty, and eases household bills. For Rossendale and Darwen, this means more money in people’s pockets, help with energy bills and better access to health services. I’ll keep working to make sure small towns like those across Rossendale and Darwen gets their fair share. ... See MoreSee Less

Last night I met with Rachel Reeves at Number 11 Downing Street ahead of today’s Budget announcement.
I’ve been in talks with the Treasury for some time to ensure our search and rescue services have the support they need.
I’ve also made it clear that we must take action to reduce the cost of living and ensure our NHS services are properly supported.
Today’s Budget is an opportunity to deliver for families and frontline services. I’ll be watching closely and will continue to make sure the needs of the people of Rossendale and Darwen are taken seriously by this Government. ... See MoreSee Less
