I asked the Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner to join me in calling on Lancashire leaders to grasp this generational opportunity. I’m very grateful to her for joining me in expressing the hope that Lancashire will have a mayor in 2026 and pledging to work with local leaders to deliver this.
